Advisor Forum presents April Charlie Award
The K-State Advisor Forum announces Sheryl Cornell, academic advisor in computer science, as the recipient of the April Charlie Award.
Cornell was nominated for the dedication she shows to her students and their overall well-being and for the support she provides to advisors across campus.
Her nominator speaks to Cornell's ambition to keep learning about the advising field in order that she can become a more effective advisor. Cornell also always takes time to help her students and goes out of her way to assist them.
"Recently she went above and beyond helping one of her students with adjusting to college after a tragic situation," said Cornell's nominator.
The support that Cornell shows to her students is remarkable.
"Sheryl will always put her students first," Cornell's nominator adds. "This act of kindness is tremendous."
Cornell also dedicates her time to helping the advising community. She has served on the Advisor Forum leadership team as a technology co-chair for the last two years. Along with helping advisors through the Advisor Forum, Cornell has also helped advisors within her college.
"Sheryl has been a wonderful mentor to many advisors in the College of Engineering, and I know she will do great things in her department," Cornell's nominator said.
The K-State Advisor Forum thanks Cornell for the work she has done for students and congratulates her on this award.
