Updates to University Operations services
The following changes have been made to services provided by University Operations units.
Mail services
Due to decreased mail volumes, Central Mail Services will reduce its hours for mail pickup and drop-off to 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, effective Monday, April 6. Building mail may be picked up by department designees and all types of outgoing mail may be dropped off at Dykstra Hall during these times. Contact Anne Murphy at anne11@k-state.edu with questions about mail services.
Building hours
Effective Monday, April 6, Anderson Hall will be open only on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No other changes have been made for access to other campus buildings.
Environmental Health and Safety
Environmental Health and Safety staff continue to provide services to the K-State community. During this time of limited operations, the frequency of waste pickups may be reduced based on demand. Continue to submit waste pickup requests as normal. Lab cleanouts have been delayed and new requests are not being accepted. Rad packages are still centrally received, but we ask that you contact Radiation Safety to let staff know anticipated delivery schedules. Review the Research Weekly article for information about the laboratory hibernation process.
Many trainings are transitioning to webinar and online. When these new online courses are available, registration information will be provided in K-State Today. Monthly instructor-led courses are canceled. In-person safety training for essential personnel is being provided upon request — e.g., personal protective equipment and respiratory protection training. Contact safety@k-state.edu to schedule.
Construction support, such as asbestos and lead surveys and clearances, is continuing on a scheduled basis. Fire and life safety equipment testing and inspections continue on a normal schedule, except monthly fire extinguisher inspections. Schedules for contractor building inspections are available on the fire safety webpage.
