Project plan under way to sunset Axio Survey
Information technology services is in the process of developing a project plan to sunset Axio Survey, a survey tool developed by information technology services more than 10 years ago. Updates have been made to the tool since its release in 2001; however, few upgrades and investments have been made in this application over the last five years while information technology services' programmers work on other enterprise projects. Also since its release, more comprehensive survey tools are available that allow for collaboration across the world and are available in the cloud.
For these reasons and more, information technology services is developing a project plan for purchasing Qualtrics, a complex survey tool with a rich feature set and phenomenal reporting capabilities. Units across campus have expressed interest in the tool. Currently, the College of Business Administration and OEIE in the College of Education have a unit license.
For the entire campus to use the application the cost is $30,900 each year for three years. We currently have commitments of $17,500 and will need the remaining monies to fund the project. According to the vendor, individual faculty licensing is $1,500, a departmental license is $2,500 and a college license is $5,000. With more units joining in the purchase, the overall cost to each unit will be reduced.
Information technology services staff are in the planning phases of the project including plans for granting administrative rights and access, migrating existing questions from Axio Survey and more.
If your unit is willing to contribute, please email or call ragou@k-state.edu. Thanks for considering.
