Accepting proposals for faculty-led education abroad programs spring and summer 2021
Faculty are encouraged to submit proposals for spring and summer 2021 faculty-led education abroad programs. Submission deadlines have been temporarily waived to allow for flexibility as more normal university operations are phased in. Proposal submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis throughout this summer.
Education Abroad has a goal of assisting faculty in developing innovative international programs and helping students gain meaningful and impactful experiences abroad. We continue to monitor health and safety information abroad and collaborate with university leadership regarding university travel policies. There are current travel warnings and advisories with the U.S. Department of State and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as a travel ban instituted by the university. For faculty who submit proposals for spring or summer 2021, international travel is conditional on these advisories and guidelines.
Moving forward, there is still uncertainty and considerations that need to be made, but advanced planning and flexibility will help us to ensure K-State has safe and high-quality international programs that are ready to operate once university-sponsored international travel is able to resume.
If you are interested in proposing a future faculty-led education abroad program or if you would like to learn more about how to get started, please contact Brent Holliday, faculty-led programs coordinator, at bholliday@k-state.edu. You may also find all of our proposal materials, policies, procedures, and resources on the faculty and advisors' section of the Education Abroad website.
