Soulful sounds: Grammy-nominated group Sweet Honey in the Rock coming to McCain

February is Black History Month and Kansas State University will start the observance with Sweet Honey In The Rock, the internationally renowned and Grammy-nominated a cappella ensemble. The group will bring its harmonies and rhythms to McCain Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.
The group was founded in 1973 in Washington, D.C., with a commitment to creating music out of the rich texture of African-American traditions. Sweet Honey performs blues, spirituals, gospel, reggae, African chants, hip-hop, ancient lullabies, jazz improvisations and more.
