Kansas Board of Regents meeting university updates

The Kansas Board of Regents virtual meeting on May 20 included several items related to Kansas State University. For more information on these items, see the May meeting agenda items announcement.
Consent agenda
The Regents approved K-State's request to offer a doctorate in education in community college leadership.
K-State received approval to introduce a bill during the 2021 legislative session to sell the original gym on the Polytechnic campus.
The Regents approved K-State's request to execute a lease agreement to provide additional housing for students on the Polytechnic campus during the 2020-2021 academic year.
Discussion agenda
The Regents approved state university program review reports. View K-State's program recommendations.
The Regents approved the fiscal year 2021 Johnson County Education Research Triangle Authority, or JCERTA, budgets. Funds for K-State support research and education programs in animal health and food safety and security at K-State Olathe.
Fiscal year 2022 capital improvements requests and five-year plans were approved.
The Regents tabled the consideration of the temporary amendment to their academic calendar policy to revise the wording and will consider it for action on Thursday, May 21.
The Regents received the first-read of the temporary suspension of board policy on auxiliary enterprises. They will act on the item at the June meeting.
Regent Bill Feuerborn was elected board chair and Regent Cheryl Harrison-Lee was elected vice chair for fiscal year 2021.
