The show-style marching bands of historically black college and universities in the South will be celebrated in "DRUMLine Live," coming to Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8. A McCain Performance series presentation, the show also is part of the university's observance of Black History Month.
Created by the music team behind the 20th Century Fox hit movie "Drumline," "DRUMLine Live" brings the explosive energy, athleticism and eclectic sounds of show-style marching bands to the theatrical stage. The program includes contemporary hip-hop, rhythm and blues, classic Motown tunes and the rousing sounds of the great brass traditions.
Tickets for "DRUMLine Live" cost $14-$55, with applicable taxes and fees, and can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office, by phone at 785-532-6428 or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain.
