Lydia Barnhart, Amy Hall to serve in new leadership roles in Office of Recruitment and Admissions
After a national search, Lydia Barnhart has been selected to serve as the assistant director for campus visits and new student orientation programs. Following an internal search, Amy Hall has accepted the position of assistant director of international recruitment and admissions.
As assistant director, Barnhart is charged with creating cutting edge orientation and enrollment programs. Barnhart is also charged with creating more synergetic experiences between individual campus visits, large-scale visit experiences, and the college transition. Finally, Barnhart will also lead the All-University Open House on the Manhattan campus. Open house duties include the creation and coordination of the student volunteer committee, serve as staff co-chair, and liaison with university and community partners.
Barnhart previously served as coordinator for special populations at Kansas State University and recruitment coordinator at Texarkana College. Barnhart brings years of recruiting experience to the position, including recruitment management of traditionally-aged freshmen students, transfer students, nontraditional students and military students. She also will provide knowledge from her previous experiences organizing campus visits, student recruitment events, and orientation and enrollment experiences.
As assistant director, Hall will develop and execute a multiyear international enrollment management strategy that will improve recruiting effectiveness and yield. The strategy developed by Hall will include identifying new markets, a marketing and communications plan, and innovative technology. The plan will also include proper assessment and evaluation.
Hall previously served as an international admissions specialist at K-State, admissions coordinator for the Intensive English Program at the University of Iowa, and the director of admissions for The Language Company. Hall brings a wealth of experience in recruitment management, international admissions evaluation, and is a designated school official for nonimmigrant visas.
"We are excited to have Lydia and Amy's leadership in these very important roles," said Bryon Williams, interim director of recruitment. "Their work will be vital to our long-term success for strategic enrollment management."
Barnhart and Hall began serving in these roles on June 15.
