Hale Library's first floor, Weigel Library, Math/Physics Library will open Aug. 3
The first floor of Hale Library and the Paul Weigel Library of Architecture, Planning and Design will open on Aug. 3. The Math/Physics Library also will open on Aug. 3.
Weigel Library hours and Math/Physics hours are available online. Both the first and second floor of Hale Library will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Aug. 14. Beginning Aug. 16, building hours will be extended. Patrons should enter the building using the second-floor entrance and exit using the first floor. The building capacity will be limited to 90 people at a time.
In addition to the resources on the second floor, the first floor will provide an additional three computers, a black and white printer, a color printer, one scanner and study seating. Group collaboration rooms will be available but with reduced capacity. They must be reserved online; they cannot be reserved on site. Patrons will not need to check in on the monitors to keep their reservation. Reservations can only be made up to one month in advance. If rooms are not reserved and unoccupied, they can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.
Patrons should remember to bring their own face coverings, in accordance with the university's face covering policy, and to follow physical distancing guidelines. If you would like to use dry erase markers, please bring your own, as we are not providing any for safety reasons. Increased cleaning will continue, and patrons will be provided with cleaning materials as well so they can clean study areas and equipment before each use.
The Libraries plan to make the second floor available on a 24/5 schedule following Labor Day. More details will be announced at a later date.
