Vice provost for graduate education and dean of Graduate School finalists
Submitted by Office of the Provost
The search committee announces three finalists who will interview virtually for the vice provost for graduate education and dean of Graduate School position and invite you to attend the virtual open forums presented by each candidate.
- Rose Marie Ward, professor and interim associate provost and dean of the Graduate School at Miami University, will interview on Aug. 5. The virtual open forum will be from 1-2 p.m.
- Mitchell McKinney, professor and director of the Political Communication Institute at the University of Missouri, will interview on Aug. 7. The virtual open forum will be from 1-2 p.m.
- Claudia Petrescu, professor and chief strategy officer at Oakland University, will interview on Aug. 10. The virtual open forum will be from 1-2 p.m.
In our recent save the date announcement we indicated there were four candidates interviewing for the position. Unfortunately, one candidate withdrew from consideration and as a result, there will not be a virtual open forum on Thursday, Aug. 6, as originally planned.
K-Staters are encouraged to participate in each virtual open forum and Q&A session titled, "The Future of Graduate Education at a 21st Century Land-Grant University: Opportunities and Challenges." Search committee chair Dean Amit Chakrabarti will moderate each virtual open forum. Questions for candidates may be submitted in advance via email to Chakrabarti at amitc@k-state.edu or asked live during each virtual open forum using the chat feature.
The virtual open forums may be accessed through the Office of the Provost search website at k-state.edu/provost/about/searches/. For those unable to participate live, the virtual open forums will be archived on the provost's search website. Application materials, itinerary and online feedback survey for each candidate are also available on that website. Please be prepared to enter your K-State eID and password to access the information. Each feedback survey will close at 5 p.m. two days following each candidate's virtual interview and the presentation will be removed from the website at that time.
Oral or written feedback on the candidates may also be directed to members of the search committee. Please provide feedback no later than Thursday, Aug. 13.
