Scott D. Schiff selected for regional award by American Society of Civil Engineers

The Region 7 Board of Governors of the American Society of Civil Engineers has announced the selection of Scott D. Schiff, teaching professor in the department of civil engineering at Kansas State University, as the ASCE Region 7 2020 Outstanding Faculty/Practitioner Advisor.

Also the Wallis-Lage — Carl and Mary Ice Cornerstone teaching scholar, Schiff has been advising the K-State ASCE Student Chapter since spring 2018 and currently chairs the ASCE Committee on Student Conferences and Competitions.

Schiff was named as both Outstanding Faculty Member and Outstanding Academic Advisor by the K-State ASCE Student Chapter for the 2019-2020 academic year. He was also selected for the Student Advocate of the Year award by members of the department’s civil engineering honorary, Chi Epsilon.

ASCE Region 7 consists of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.
