A summary of university changes related to COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kansas State University has made several changes to operations. The following is a summary of the changes announced Aug. 3-7.

Come back, 'Cats.
Updates continue to be posted on the COVID-19 website, which includes guidance and frequently asked questions about the return to university campuses. Guidance and FAQ content that has been added recently includes the Come Back 'Cats — Reopening Kansas State University training for employees, face covering and COVID-19 training for students, health and safety in the classroom, student organizations and visitor information. Additional updates have been posted throughout the website.
A virtual town hall meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 11, for K-State faculty and staff.
As the start of the fall semester nears, K-State faculty and staff are invited to participate in a virtual town hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, regarding updates on university plans and preparations for academic instruction and campus operations.

As students prepare to return to classes, K-State has a one-stop shop to help students find all the answers to key questions about the fall 2020 semester.
Students should check for updates to fall 2020 class schedules.
On Monday, Aug. 3, all students should have received information from the Office of the Registrar about fall 2020 course schedule adjustments. Find more information on the Office of the Registrar website.
Students must complete training on face coverings and COVID-19.
Students should complete a mandatory training on COVID-19 transmission, risk mitigation and the Every Wildcat A Wellcat pledge. Students will log in with eIDs to verify completed training.

Before returning to a K-State campus, every student needs to take steps to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Students can use a fall 2020 checklist to keep track of to-do items.
A new published study from K-State virologists identifies a potential COVID-19 treatment.

Community partnership eases COVID-19 testing shortages.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has recognized Kansas State University faculty and administration and Community HealthCare System for their commitment to work with the Northeast Kansas Healthcare Coalition to successfully fill the supply chain gap of nasopharyngeal swabs for COVID-19 testing in the region.
