K-State CrossFit: Improve functional fitness, mobility

Submitted by Shely Weinrich

Less time in the gym with better results
Are you interested in getting in better shape or improving your fitness but do not want to spend hours in the gym? Are you a little intimidated by fitness programs but would like one designed specifically for you? If so, then functional fitness and mobility is for you. We use safe, effective and functional everyday movements performed at a relative higher intensity.  Functional fitness and mobility is a low-intensity training class where learning and mastering technique and form is the emphasis rather than trying to achieve the fastest time or heaviest lift. You will be challenged daily but the format is non-competitive and focused on results.  Best of all, you will enjoy doing it.

Do I need to be in shape before I start?
No prior fitness experience is required. All workouts will be individually scaled to your fitness level by Craig Weibe, a CrossFit certified instructor. All workouts will be conducted in small groups and are constantly varied in format and exercises involved. Each training day will include a short workout followed with a focus on mobility or stretching movements.
