Powercat Financial announces new peer financial counselors
Powercat Financial recently selected new peer financial counselors for the 2020-2021 year.
Peer financial counselors assist students with their financial questions and college financial planning decisions, as well as provide free financial workshops and events for students. This is a unique on-campus internship opportunity for students studying in financial-related programs such as personal financial planning, business finance, accounting, agribusiness and economics.
The following students will serve as new peer financial counselors: Laura Peterson, Assaria; Alex Sataloff, Atchison; Tyson Rodriguez, graduate assistant, Dodge City; Cameron Jones, Lenexa; Claire Herrmann, Olathe; Cal Shimkus, Oxford; Alex Miller, Overland Park; Alex Martinez, Wichita; and Rebecca Hernandez, Fort Worth, Texas.
The following students are returning peer financial counselors: Garrett Jackson, Cedar Point; Carson Cox, Hutchinson; Chace Prothe, Prairie Village; Jessica Smith, Spring Hill; Sarah Meenen and Matthew Schlossman, both from Topeka; Maria Daniele, Elgin, Illinois; and Anabelle Sanko, Holdrege, Nebraska.
Nineteen additional students will join Powercat Financial's Student Advisory Board to support the mission of increasing students' financial capability. The students will be responsible for marketing the financial services of Powercat Financial to fellow students and hosting interactive financial events throughout the year such as the online financial comedian event with Colin Ryan set for 4 p.m. Sept. 28 via Zoom. They also promote the free online financial tool, CashCourse.org, created by NEFE.
