A summary of university updates related to COVID-19

Kansas State University continues to provide updates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following is a summary of announcements from Aug. 24-28.

Updates continue to be posted on the COVID-19 website, which includes guidance and frequently asked questions about the return to university campuses. Guidance and FAQ content that has been updated recently includes additions to the testing section to include details about enhanced asymptomatic testing and information for students who may need study spaces between classes in academic instruction. Updated language about the face covering policy was added and the new online dashboard with COVID-19 data was highlighted on the website.

In an Aug. 26 letter, President Richard Myers thanks the university community for complying with safety efforts and announces some updates to the face covering policy.

The Office of Student Life has outlined the Student Code of Conduct procedure for enforcing the face covering policy.
The university launches an online dashboard to track COVID-19 data.
K-State is tracking COVID-19 data in university-connected communities through an online dashboard. The dashboard will be updated every Wednesday and will include the previous week's data.
K-State is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity and is conducting voluntary surveillance testing of students.
This week, K-State began conducting voluntary surveillance testing of students who live in the Manhattan residence halls and Jardine Apartments as part of the university's enhanced testing for asymptomatic individuals. The university also has expanded its COVID-19 testing capacity at Lafene Health Center to include asymptomatic testing of faculty and staff as needed.
The Office of Student Life is offering support and guidance for students with COVID-19-related absences.
Students who are in isolation or quarantine due to COVID-19-related illness or exposure should contact the Office of Student Life to receive critical support and a university-excused absence by faculty.
