Entomologist Zhu is guest editor for special journal issue
Kun Yan Zhu of the department of entomology served as the guest editor for a special issue of the professional journal Insect Science, which is due to be released in February.
This special journal issue concentrates on the great potential of RNA interference for addressing a wide range of entomological questions, and for providing novel and effective solutions to pest management. Zhu is internationally recognized as a leader in this rapidly expanding field, and is a member of the strong core of scientists at Kansas State working in arthropod molecular biology and genomics. He has been using RNA interference to understand mechanisms of insecticide toxicity and to devise novel and environmentally benign toxicants for serious insect pests.
