Reminders about the face coverings and physical distancing policy
Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing
Kansas State University continues to require face coverings on campuses and encourages everyone in the university community to continue to wear face coverings and practice physical distancing off campus, too.
Here is the university's face covering policy and physical distancing policy.
Face coverings policy
Everyone — faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors and visitors — must wear face coverings over their mouths and noses in all indoor and outdoor spaces while you are on university property unless you are alone in your own private office or workspace or are alone outdoors. Learn more.
Physical distancing policy
All persons on university property must maintain 6-feet physical distance from other persons, in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Learn more.
While it's true that a majority of young people who get COVID-19 only experience mild symptoms, it's also true that we don't know who may have an immune system that cannot fight the virus or what the long-term side effects of having the virus are, according to the CDC. Additionally, being around older family members and friends while asymptomatic could expose an at-risk person. Because of that, wearing a face covering and staying 6 feet apart on campus and off campus is important.
Do your part. Cover smart. Slow the spread.
