Women's studies program director gives Women's Equality Day address at Fort Riley
Michele Janette, associate professor of English and director of the women's studies program, was invited to deliver the central address of the Women's Equality Day Observance at Fort Riley's Irwin Army Community Hospital on Aug. 26. Her talk featured the contributions of lesser known suffragists, such as Esther Morris, Amelia Bloomer and Charlotte Woodward, to the achievement of voting rights for women and emphasized the grassroots nature and longevity of the campaign for women's suffrage.
