Global Campus marketing director wins UPCEA Support Specialist award
George Widenor, marketing director for K-State Global Campus, has been named the 2020 University and Professional Continuing Education Association Central Region Continuing Education Support Specialist award winner.
Designed to provide recognition to association members who have exhibited creativity and innovation in support of online or continuing education programs, Widenor was nominated for the award for his efforts in leading the marketing unit as well as innovation in developing tools that advise data-informed decision-making at Global Campus.
"George has distinguished himself as a leader within Global Campus by building a high-performing team and reaching new heights in operational excellence," said Karen Pedersen, dean of Global Campus. "I truly appreciate his contributions, both at Global Campus and as an involved member on universitywide projects. He is very deserving of this regional association award."
Widenor started at Global Campus in 2013 in a market research role before taking over as director in 2017.
This year's UPCEA Central Region conference was conducted virtually Sept. 30-Oct. 2. The association exists to provide support to its members through professional networking opportunities, best-practice insights and publications.
