Thank you, K-State custodial workers
Dear K-State Colleagues,
As we wrap up the Custodial Worker Appreciation Week, I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our custodial staff on all of our campuses for the extraordinary job they do in taking care of our university. Our custodians play an integral role in making sure the university operates smoothly. Just think about the chaos that would ensue if we didn't have our custodians to clean up our restrooms, lobbies, offices, pick up trash and recyclables, and don't forget that they clean off snow and ice from the stoops and stairs into buildings.
Thank you, custodians, for arriving on campus early each morning getting our classrooms and restrooms clean and ready when faculty, staff and students arrive. You are who we call on to clean up the mess when there are emergency pipe breaks at the most inopportune times, nights, or weekends. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, you were the ones who continued to arrive on campus each day. We know it wasn't easy balancing work with family obligations and concerns for your own safety. You didn't hesitate to take on extra cleaning protocols and changes to your duties to assist the university in mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 virus. You played an integral role in the university successfully opening campus for the fall semester. How much you care and appreciate this university shines through in the work you do. You understand the value of a clean and well-kept building when students and families walk on our campus for the first time.
Thank you, custodial staff, for your contributions in making K-State the special university it is. Please enjoy your luncheon today, it is very much deserved. I know we don't say this enough, THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication, you are a valued member of our team and we appreciate you!
Thank you,
Cindy Bontrager
