Art in Motion Expo at the Beach Museum of Art: A conversation between artist Charles Lindsay, Wired's Kevin Kelly
As part of the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art's Art in Motion Expo on Saturday, Oct. 17, current museum exhibition artist Charles Lindsay, "FIELD STATION 4," and Kevin Kelly, senior maverick for Wired magazine, will present the conversation "Technological Shamanism in the 21st Century" at 3 p.m. CDT via Zoom.
The program is free. To register in advance, go to ksu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_7XGJiZJEQD-tPnxq734fxw. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information about how to join the program.
Lindsay, the creator of "FIELD STATION" bases for the exploration of Earth's past and the possibility of interplanetary communication, and Kelly, a visionary thinker about human knowledge and the technologies that shape it, will have a free-wheeling discussion about venturing into less-known territory.
Awarded an artist residency at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation's Captiva, Florida, site, Lindsay is the founder of the SETI Institute's artist-in-residence program. His work is in the collection of the Beach Museum of Art and collections internationally.
Kelly is the founding executive editor of Wired and the former editor and publisher of the Whole Earth Review.
