Elza Mathew to present Anatomy and Physiology Seminar
Elza Mathew, graduate research assistant with Robert DeLong in the anatomy and physiology department, will present "Antimicrobial Peptides as Antiviral Agents: A Nanotechnology Perspective" at the next Anatomy and Physiology Seminar at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, via Zoom.
Mathew received a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at Kerala Agricultural University in Kerala, India, a Master of Veterinary Science in animal biotechnology at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Punjab, India, and a Master of Science in animal science at the University of Connecticut.
As a graduate student she is researching nanomedicine for cancer therapeutics, specifically the use of bio-engineered metal oxide nanoparticles against melanoma with DeLong.
