Submitted by Office Of International Programs

The Office of International Programs invites the campus community to the 2020 International Education Awards Ceremony from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, to be hosted virtually. Join to celebrate K-State and international collaborating leaders who are elevating the level of international education at the university.

Through live and pre-recorded remarks, Charles Taber, university provost and executive vice president; Grant Chapman associate provost in the Office of International Programs; and Marcellus Caldas, assistant provost in the Office of International Programs, will recognize the following 2020 International Education Week award winners:

• International Educator of the Year Award — Andrew "Andy" Barkley professor of agricultural economics, for making a huge impact on countless students by teaching international agricultural economics courses, mentoring graduate international students and leading faculty-led educational experiences for students.

• International Innovative Education Program of the Year — Saudia Airlines for the ever-growing sponsorship of Saudi students in aviation at Kansas State Polytechnic campus. This award will be accepted by officials from Saudia Airlines.

• Outstanding Support for International Initiatives — Housing and Dining Services for the passion, interest and commitment in serving the K-State students and their families. The service stepped up during a time of need and assisted international students, international scholars and returning education abroad students. The award will be accepted by Derek Jackson.
