Math department invites first- through 12th-grade students to participate in national online math competition

Submitted by Natalia Rozhkovskaya

The mathematics department invites school students in first through 12th grades to participate in the traditional USA Math Kangaroo Competition.

The department has normally hosted a test center at K-State for many years, however, the next test in Kansas will take place online on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Participants should visit the Math Kangaroo website to register at the Kansas Virtual Center by Dec. 15.

A student can be registered to this center as long as he/she resides in the state where the center is located. The test can be taken from any location with internet access. The competition will start on or after March 18, 2021. Math Kangaroo will email detailed information about the testing window to each student before March 15, 2021.

The Math Kangaroo office will send a T-shirt and a small gift directly to the address of a parent registering a student. Math Kangaroo honors special accommodations with the proof provided for such need(s).

The regular registration fee is $21 until Dec. 15. A late registration fee is $35 between Dec. 16-31. Math Kangaroo offers financial assistance to families in hardship; please contact finance@mathkangaroo.org to ask for assistance and provide appropriate proof of hardship.
