Homeland security awards contract for construction of NBAF central utilities plant
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The Kansas federal congressional delegation and the governor of Kansas have announced the Department of Homeland Security awarded the contract for construction of the central utilities plant, a critical step forward in construction of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility.
This action awards $40 million in Fiscal Year 2011 appropriations to be spent on construction of the plant without further delay. The plant will be a free-standing, 87,000-square-foot building built on the NBAF site. Construction of the plant is expected to be completed in a little more than two years.
