Deepa Upreti to present Anatomy and Physiology Seminar
Deepa Upreti, graduate research assistant in the anatomy and physiology department, will present "Lung Cancer Prevention by Euglena gracilis Extract and the Role of Intestinal Microbiota" at the next Anatomy and Physiology Seminar at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, via Zoom.
Upreti is a doctoral student in the laboratory of Masaaki Tamura in the anatomy and physiology department. She is originally from Nepal and received her Master of Science in microbiology from Tribhuvan University. She also received her Master of Science in veterinary biomedical science from K-State. Her research area includes the use of natural products for lung and colon cancer prevention and therapy. She also works on the development and evaluation of immune-checkpoint inhibitors in suppressing cancer.
This seminar is the part of her research that includes the prevention of lung carcinoma growth by Euglena gracilis extract and potential mechanism associated with attenuation of lung cancer growth.
