Maria Lou to present Anatomy and Physiology Seminar
Maria Lou, graduate research assistant in the anatomy and physiology department, will present "Evaluating the utility of a CO2 surgical laser for piglet tail docking to reduce pain and improve wound healing" at the next Anatomy and Physiology Seminar at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, via Zoom.
Lou received a Bachelor of Science in animal sciences from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in animal science from the University of Minnesota.
As a graduate student, her research focuses on animal behavior and welfare, specifically learning how to assess and manage pain in neonatal livestock species working under the direction of Abbie Viscardi.
