Legislative Update
This is the 12th and next to the last week of the Kansas legislative session. The last day to debate bills in the Kansas House of Representatives and Kansas Senate is Wednesday, March 31. All bills, not exempt, need to be passed out of the House or Senate depending on the chamber where the bill originated. Bills were either sent back to a committee or killed. Any bill not passed in the 2021 Kansas Legislative session remains alive until the 2022 session. The Legislature will adjourn at the close of legislative business on March 31 and return Tuesday, April 6, for the final week of the regular 2021 legislative session.
The Kansas Legislature will provide virtual access to committee meetings and floor action throughout the 2021 legislative session. Links to access the meetings can be found at kslegislature.org/li/.
The Office of Government Relations will again provide weekly Legislative Review Sessions through the remainder of the session to discuss the previous week and upcoming hearings and meetings. The next Legislative Review Session will be at noon Friday, April 2 by Zoom. Zoom details are below. You will be required to sign in with your K-State eID and password to access the meeting.
