Wildcat Warriors hosting annual 5K to benefit USO of Kansas
Submitted by Nicholas Winston Higgs
The Wildcat Warriors, a registered independent student organization at Kansas State University, will host its annual Wildcat Warrior 5K on Saturday, May 8, at North East Community Park in Manhattan — 680 Knox Lane, Manhattan — beginning at 9 a.m.
To register, visit the event website, Facebook page, or use the direct registration link.
The foundational goal of the 5K event is to give back by honoring our nation's service members and their loved ones. Come help support Wildcat Warriors in supporting military families worldwide. All proceeds are directed to USO of Kansas, who provide soldiers and their families with fun events, specialized programs, and most importantly, take care of the servicemen and women who are serving abroad. From the moment these brave young men and women join the U.S. Military, move through their assignments and deployments, and transition back into their communities, the USO is always by their side. Today's USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their mission. The USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations, and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish its mission.
We hope you will register and help us benefit the USO of Kansas. If you are unable to join us in Manhattan, consider the virtual 5K option which will get you a T-shirt and the ability to submit your times.
Please message the 2021 Wildcat Warrior 5K Organizing Committee on Facebook with any questions.
