Submitted by Katelin Christianer-Donkers
The K-State Advisor Forum announces that Vanetta Geiger, academic advisor in hospitality management, has been selected for the May Charlie Award.
Geiger was nominated by Nancy King for her "outstanding commitment to current and potential student to our department." Geiger has received praise for her creativity with recruitment efforts "and going the extra mile."
According to King, Geiger "always has a friendly smile and welcoming attitude toward everyone. Students are eagerly encouraged and responsive to Geiger with any type of academic issues or personal issues. She listens intently and directs the students towards the path of success. Any student Geiger encounters is guided toward success and compassion."
Geiger has "that 'K-State Spirit' in everything thing she does. Her dedication to our program, college and university exceeds the standards for an academic advisor."
The K-State Advisor Forum thanks Geiger for the work she has done for students and her college, and congratulates her on this award.
As a reminder, to nominate someone for the Charlie Award, fill out the short online form. Once your nomination is complete, it will remain an active nomination for one full academic year. Nominations can be completed at any time and can be submitted by anyone on campus. One award will be given out at the beginning of each month. The Advisor Forum Committee will make the decision and deliver awards.
