Dzewaltowski addresses obesity prevention at National Academies of Science
David Dzewaltowski, head of the department of kinesiology in the College of Human Ecology, spoke on "Creating healthy environments at home: Parenting for the development of physical activity" at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Sciences public session in February.
He and other invited speakers presented a public session on "A Conversation about Parents and Childhood Obesity Prevention." They explored how parents view childhood obesity prevention, insights from child development for obesity prevention, and parent engagement and leadership in preventing obesity among their children.
