Kansas History publishes special themed issue on Santa Fe Trail
Kansas History, published jointly by the history department at K-State and the Kansas Historical Foundation, recently released the spring 2021 issue, a themed issue on the Santa Fe Trail to commemorate the trail's 200th anniversary. Topics covered range from the role of food in shaping Indigenous-white relationships on the Plains, to the experiences of a young Jewish woman who rode the trail on horseback, to the trail's role in helping the U.S. maintain control of Arizona during the Civil War.
