Tuition insurance available this fall
New for fall 2021, K-State will make available tuition insurance through GradGuard to help protect students' educational investment if they are unable to complete the semester due to a medical reason.
Tuition insurance can help refund tuition, fees and other costs of attendance, up to the policy limits, due to a covered medical reason, such as an illness, accident, or mental health issue and more. Tuition insurance complements and enhances Kansas State University's refund policy. Plans also include GradGuard's Student Life Assistance, a 24-hour emergency hotline that offers students and parents even greater peace of mind.
Purchasing tuition insurance is entirely optional. Whether a student chooses to purchase coverage — and at what level — will depend on their individual net cost and their personal risk appetite. Deadline to sign-up this semester for standard term courses is Sept. 13, 2021. The deadline for Non-Standard Term courses will be the 100% refund date for that particular class.
Talking points will be provided to K-State faculty and staff, but students should be directed to contact GradGuard with their questions. Students will begin receiving notification of this offering throughout the summer and beginning of the fall semester. For more information, please visit the Tuition Insurance webpage.
