Update regarding sorority recruitment
Submitted by Center for Student Involvement
The fall 2021 semester will have a number of changes to the schedule of events compared to previous fall semesters, including a change to the time frame for sorority recruitment to take place. All social Greek-lettered sororities are registered with the Center for Student Involvement as independent student organizations. For this reason, the scheduling of sorority recruitment is left in the hands of the individual organizations and the director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Inc. at K-State, Jordan Kocher.
Kocher has shared with the Center for Student Involvement that sorority recruitment will take place during the first week of classes from Aug. 26-29 this fall, so as not to interfere with Your Wildcat Welcome programming for incoming students. In-person events on Thursday, Aug. 26, and Friday, Aug. 27, will begin after 6 p.m. to limit the number of conflicts with student class and other university commitments. Saturday and Sunday events will be held throughout the entirety of the day. Students will still be expected to participate in all class activities during all recruitment days. This expectation is being shared with the students, their families and with the chapters hosting recruitment activities.
