Political science professor to present at policy forum in Netherlands

Sam Bell, assistant professor of political science, will give an invited talk on “Predicting Political Hotspots: A Risk Assessment Model of Political Violence” to the Montesquieu Institute in The Hague on Nov. 23.
The Montesquieu Institute is a policy and academic initiative of four Dutch universities, including Leiden University and the University of Maastricht, designed to foster and strengthen democracy worldwide. The research Bell will present is co-authored with Amanda Murdie, assistant professor of political science, and a scholar at Binghamton University in New York. The study has been featured at forums sponsored by the Council of Foreign Relations and in news outlets such as the BBC.
