Report from the state university CEOs
In his report to the board, President Richard Myers gave several university updates, including K-State's new vice president for research, David Rosowsky; construction on the Shamrock Zone at Bill Snyder Family Stadium; the naming of the Carl and Melinda Helwig Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering; 288 K-State honorees on the spring 2021 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, 97 earning a 4.0 GPA; and K-State's Fulbright scholars.
Discussion agenda
The board approved K-State's request to amend the FY 2023 capital improvement plan and accept the program statement for construction of a new residence hall on the K-State Polytechnic Campus.
The Regents approved FY 2022 appropriations to public universities.
K-State received approval to name the Welcome Center at K-State Polytechnic Campus for former Dean and CEO Dennis Kuhlman.
The board congratulated President Myers on his upcoming retirement. They approved a closed committee-led presidential search and appointed Mark Hutton as the current Regent member and Carl Ice as the committee chair.
