Peric co-authors GEER report on 2020 earthquake in Petrinja, Croatia
Dunja Peric, associate professor of civil engineering, co-authored a recently published GEER report on the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Petrinja, Croatia, which occurred on Dec. 29, 2020.
The report presents results from the reconnaissance efforts of an international team of professionals from the U.S. and Croatia. It includes information about the tectonic setting of the area, the geology and geomorphology, data from the recorded ground motions and information about ground deformation, liquefaction and related damage and the response of the levee system. The work was conducted under the auspices of the Geotechnical Extreme Events Reconnaissance, or GEER, Association, which is supported by the National Science Foundation.
Peric is a member of the virtual GEER team.
