Submitted by Human Capital Services
Kansas State University has developed a new employment policy on sponsoring foreign nationals for permanent residence — PPM Chapter 4670. This policy is intended to ensure compliance with federal law and regulations and also provide guidance to academic and administrative units regarding sponsorship requests.
The new policy provides guidance related to eligibility and important timing considerations for university sponsorship for permanent residency. The policy also includes details regarding expenses associated with sponsorship as well as the process of approval for sponsorship requests.
The development of this policy was a partnership between Human Capital Services, International Students and Scholars Services, or ISSS, the University Research Compliance Office and outside immigration counsel. Specific guidance and forms that accompany the policy are available on the ISSS website.
Training and communication regarding this policy and accompanying resources will be announced soon.
