Krush recognized for research impact in social media and business-to-business marketing

Submitted by Dana Parker

Mike Krush, associate professor of marketing in the  College of Business Administration, was recognized for his research on social media usage in business-to-business marketing. A recent article in the Journal of Business Research, "Impact assessment of social media usage in B2B marketing: A review of the literature and a way forward," reviewed the business literature, which focused on social media usage in the business-to-business context.

By examining citations, the article's authors examined categories and topics of research, the impact of individual research publications, and the impact of authors. Krush and his research team were recognized as having the fourth most influential article, based on citations; and individually, Krush was rated seventh in terms of author influence.

Krush earned his doctorate from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He joined the College of Business Administration in 2018. His research examines business-to-business topics, including sales performance and areas of marketing strategy, such as marketing capabilities, social media and marketing dashboards. Krush also teaches two sections of the Sales Force Leadership class that supports the National Strategic Selling Institute and its academic programs.

The National Strategic Selling Institute is housed in the College of Business Administration and has been named one of the top sales programs in the country for nine straight years by the Sales Education Foundation. In fall 2018, K-State became just the 19th university in the U.S. to offer a major in sales. Students can also earn a certificate in professional strategic selling, which is open to all majors at the university. The professional strategic selling program introduces students to the fundamentals of sales and the innovative curriculum and sales labs allow students to develop the skills needed to be successful.
