Thursday Teaching Tip: Empathy for yourself and your students

Submitted by Ashley Nietfeld

The K-State Global Campus instructional designer brings you Thursday Teaching Tips through K-State Today. These tips will cover Canvas, best practices in teaching online or new topics as the community begins to discuss them.

Today's Thursday Teaching Tip focuses on empathy for both you and your students. We are past the mid-point of the semester with November right around the corner. We may be feeling our own fatigue as we note signs of student burnout. K-State's Teaching and Learning Center provides an entire series of videos on the topic of empathy: "Empathetic Course Design"; "Rapport, Trust and Reliability"; and "Empathy and Self-Care."

Please contact gcid@k-state.edu with comments, to schedule a consultation or to share ideas for future tips. Thank you for your interest in improving the quality of teaching at K-State.
