Mathematics Department Colloquium Dec. 9
Xinlong Dong, Queens College, will present a colloquium titled "On Complex Extension of the Liouville Map" as part of the Mathematics Department Colloquium series at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in 122 Cardwell Hall.
The abstract for the lecture: The Liouville map assigns to each point in the Teichmüller space a positive Radon measure on the space of geodesics of the universal covering of the base Riemann surface. This construction, which was introduced by Bonahon, is valid for both finite and infinite Riemann surfaces and has various properties and applications. In particular, we investigate its holomorphicity by extending the Liouville map to the quasi-Fuchsian space. This is a joint work with Dragomir Saric.
