Please share information about SPARK Program with your eligible students
Submitted by Office of Student Success
Second Opportunity for Academic Refocus at K-State, or SPARK, is a program for first-year students who earned less than a 1.0 GPA during their first semester at K-State and were dismissed. SPARK provides the opportunity for students to be readmitted immediately with Student Success support instead of waiting for the required two semesters for readmission. More information about the SPARK program and requirements can be found on our website.
To participate in SPARK, students must complete the following steps:
- Complete the SPARK application by the end of the day Jan. 4, 2022. Applications open Dec. 17.
- Complete an online Orientation and sign a Learning Agreement.
- Enroll in the required Academic Refocus Seminar-DAS 199.
Students eligible for SPARK will receive information in their dismissal notification from their college and an email from the Office of Student Success on how to apply.
The SPARK Program equips students to build academic success skills, stay on track to graduation, and develop skills for college and career. Students are enrolled in a three-hour Academic Refocus Seminar with embedded academic coaching and learning assistant.
