Diversity Programs Office March update
The College of Agriculture/KSRE Diversity Programs Office has had a busy month celebrating Women’s History Month thus far, including in-class women's history highlights for the GENAG 210: Human and Cultural Diversity in Agriculture class in partnership with the Diversity Programs Office and the American ethnic studies program. Read more about earlier March events here.
Today, the Diversity Programs Office partners with Ag Academic Programs office, the Indigenous Faculty and Staff Alliance and K-State Diversity Multicultural Student Affairs to host an Indigenous Students’ College for a Day event on campus from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. The event has received support from the "New Beginnings for Tribal Students" grant through the horticulture and natural resources department.
To conclude Women’s History Month, the K-State MANRRS Chapter will attend the National MANRRS Conference and Career Fair, March 24-26, in Jacksonville, Florida. Zelia Wiley, assistant dean and K-State MANRRS advisor; Summer Santillana, Diversity Programs Office coordinator; and Lonnie Hobbs Jr., K-State MANRRS co-advisor, will accompany a 10-student delegation, including Hobbs, to represent K-State at the national conference.
All students will be competing during the conference, in these areas:
• Ivan Bueso-Interiano, senior in animal sciences and industry, competes in the research poster competition and photography contests.
