Faculty help tractor team top international field
Two faculty members have helped the K-State tractor team to its eighth international win in an annual quarter-scale tractor competition. Pat Murphy and Ed Brokesh, advisers for the agricultural technology management program, helped lead students to victory over 27 international collegiate teams.
The competition requires students to use engineering skills they've learned in K-State courses to build a tractor that meets structural and electrical requirements.
"Looking down the road to employment, they're going to have this type of project," Murphy said. "We think this is good future training for our students," Murphy said.
An audio slide story detailing the program's success is available.
