Geography and geospatial sciences department awards scholarships
The geography and geospatial sciences department presented its departmental awards and scholarships at its annual honors and awards reception on May 5. The department awarded $41,000 in scholarship funds to undergraduate and graduate students for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The following students received awards:
- Rebecca Lima and Nicholas McCarroll, doctoral students, Steven Kale Graduate Research fellowships.
- Jessie McClellan, sophomore, William Grimm Undergraduate Scholarship.
- Colin Barclay, senior, Huber Self Scholarship in Geography.
- Trevor Thomas, senior, H.L. Seyler Undergraduate GIScience Scholarship.
- Colin Barclay, senior, LeBlanc Outstanding Undergraduate Major Award.
- Chester Hubbard, senior, NCGE/AAG Excellence in Scholarship Award.
- Olivia Groeber, graduate student, Stephen and Susan White GTA Excellence Award.
- Kevin Johnson, senior; Jessie McClellan, sophomore, and Trevor Thomas, senior, Robert H. Williams Undergraduate Geography scholarships.
- Amariah Fischer, doctoral student, Department Leadership Award.
- Nicholas McCarroll, doctoral student, Dobbs Outstanding Citizen Award.
- Amariah Fischer, Hilda Onuoha and Meng Ding, doctoral students, Milton and Emma Jean Rafferty GTU Geography scholarships.
- Clay Robertson, doctoral student, Marston Muddy Boots Award.
- Kevin Johnson, senior, Linda Patterson Geography Scholarship.
- Trevor Thomas, senior, and Jessie McClellan, sophomore, Steven Kale Undergraduate Research Fellowships.Joel Radunzel, Shreya Ojha, Meng Ding and Nicholas McCarroll, doctoral students, Geography Graduate Research grants.
