K-State announces national search for vice president for administration and finance
Submitted by Office of the President
A search committee appointed by President Richard Linton has begun the national search for the vice president for administration and finance at Kansas State University. The university has engaged with the services of WittKieffer, an executive search firm, to support the search committee with the process.
The search for the university's next vice president for administration and finance formally merges the university's chief financial officer role with the chief operations officer role. The university is invited to review the new organizational chart. This position is charged to lead and oversee university strategic budget planning and management, campus planning and project management, facilities services and building maintenance, risk management and compliance oversight, internal audit, environmental health and safety, financial operations, contract management, financial reporting, parking services, campus police and public safety.
As a collaborative executive leader and member of the President's Cabinet, the vice president ensures overall fiduciary integrity of the university, institutional effectiveness, and provides insights regarding financing, policies, long-term planning, financial sustainability, research accounting, operations, resourcing and the accomplishment of the university's mission and goals. This position has a significant role in representing the university to the Kansas Board of Regents, the Kansas Legislature and the community.
The search is being assisted by WittKieffer search consultants Zachary A. Smith, Jen Meyers Pickard and Randi Miller. David Rosowsky, K-State vice president for research, and Kevin Gwinner, dean of the College of Business Administration, serve as the search committee co-chairs.
Inquiries, nominations and applications will be treated confidentially. For full consideration, application materials must be received by Tuesday, July 26. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and should include a cover letter and curriculum vita or resume. Application materials should be submitted using WittKieffer's candidate portal.
The full position description, including required qualifications, may be found on the president’s website.
Campus interviews will take place in mid-to-late August, with an anticipated appointment beginning later in the fall.
