Submitted by Wayne Everett Goins

profile

Wayne Goins, university distinguished professor of music, published the second chapter of a rare and exclusive interview with legendary guitarist Russell Malone in the May issue of Jazz Guitar Life, a highly popular online jazz guitar journal that features the most prominent artists in the world.

In this second episode, Goins invites Malone to share first-hand testimonies about his rare encounters with a few legendary jazz guitar icons, including Hank Garland, Bucky Pizzarelli and Tal Farlow.

Goins tapped Malone in a multipart series of rare interviews to come to the journal that shines the spotlight on jazz guitarists who have mastered the craft of performing and composing the uniquely American art form. Goins will be submitting a wide variety of pieces, including exclusive jazz artist profiles, CD reviews, podcast interviews and feature articles related to jazz recordings on vinyl.
