Global Campus welcomes new staff, fills key leadership roles
Global Campus has added two new staff members to the team, filling key leadership roles.
Jennifer Thornburg joined Global Campus in July as administrative consultant to the dean. Thornburg holds a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and kinesiology from Kansas State University and has worked for K-State for more than 12 years. Before joining Global Campus, she worked for the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, serving for eight years as a program coordinator and four years as a student assistant while earning her degree.
"Jennifer brings a wealth of relevant experience to this role, and I am confident she will quickly move through a learning curve and navigate both the strategic and tactical aspects of this most important position," said Global Campus Dean Karen Pedersen.
In late August, Megan Chambers joined Global Campus as the director of recruitment. She previously spent seven years on staff at Butler Community College in various positions focused on student recruitment. Chambers graduated with a Master of Science in education with an emphasis in higher education student affairs from Fort Hays State University in 2020. She also has a Master of Professional Studies in organizational leadership and a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership, both from Fort Hays State University, and an Associate of Science in liberal arts from Butler Community College.
"I am excited to welcome Megan as the director of recruitment, as she brings experience to K-State that is critically important in several key areas such as recruitment and admissions, CRM systems administration, institutional research and registration services," Pedersen said.
