Now accepting campus applications for Goldwater scholarship
Kansas State University is looking for undergraduate students to compete nationally for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
Are you participating in undergraduate research and planning to graduate from a STEM discipline in May 2024, December 2024 or May 2025? If so, you may be a competitive candidate for the Goldwater, which awards up to $7,500 a year toward undergraduate expenses.
Ideal Goldwater nominees plan to ultimately earn a doctorate and seek a research-oriented career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering; have maintained a 3.8-plus GPA; and have ongoing undergraduate research experience.
Kansas State University can nominate four students in engineering, mathematics and/or the natural sciences to compete nationally. We can also nominate a fifth student if they are a transfer student. Students nominated to represent K-State in the national competition will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from K-State for spring 2023.
Campus applications are due on Nov. 4. Read the full PDF instructions regarding how to apply.
Attend an information session about the Goldwater at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in 113 Leadership Studies Building or make an appointment with Beth Powers, director of the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships.
Powers is the Goldwater faculty representative. If students have questions or would like to discuss other scholarship options, please contact her at bethpowers@k-state.edu or visit 207 Leadership Studies Building.
