Biosecurity Research Institute director invited to serve on editorial board of prestigious journal

Stephen Higgs, director of the Biosecurity Research Institute and associate vice president for research, has been invited to serve on the editorial board of Biosecurity and Bioterrorism: Biodefense Strategy, Practice and Science, a quarterly journal.
Biosecurity and Bioterorism disseminates findings that bear on the science, strategy and practice of biodefense. Editorial board members write occasional articles for publication, serve as peer reviewers of articles and offer insights into specific authors and papers.
Tara O'Toole, undersecretary of the Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was the journal's founding editor. Other board members of the journal include: Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; and Julie Gerberding, former director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Higgs began at K-State in July.
